KANHIOTE TYENDINAGA TERRITORY PUBLIC LIBRARY FACILITIES POLICY

It is the policy of the library board for the meeting room to be available to the community for educational, cultural and leisure activities. The board gives priority to library sponsored or co-sponsored events; determines all charges; reserves the right to accept or refuse a reservation or cancel any booking at the discretion of the librarian.

PROCEDURE

Application for the meeting room is made through the library using their form; original form is kept by the library – copy to the applicant. Library programs will be given priority in the use of the room.

All programs must be free and open to the public. Because the library encourages uses by many groups, the meeting room may be booked no more than once a week on a continuing basis. Special time limited activities i.e. 6 week programs may apply for consideration.

Notice to cancel must be given to the library 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in loss of booking privileges. Programs may not disrupt the use of the library by others. All organizations must clearly specify their own name in advertisements of meetings held in the library.

The applicant must provide all set-up and clean-up labor. Library must be left in a clean and orderly condition. Users must pay for any repair of damages to facilities. The library will not be responsible for any materials or equipment left in the building.

Catering facilities other than coffee and similar refreshments need prior approval by the library. No alcoholic beverages may be dispensed or consumed on library property. No smoking is permitted on library premises.
